Untitled, 2026

Lumen print mounted on wood

Megan Major is a Detroit-based artist whose work explores environmental change through experimental photographic processes and artist-made books. Using techniques such as cyanotype, lumen printing, and camera-based photography, she investigates how natural forces, materials, and light transform both landscape and image. Her projects often focus on perception, disappearance, and ecological transformation, creating photographs and books that blur the boundaries between documentation and abstraction. Major's artist books are developed as unique objects, with binding structures and materials tailored to the specific needs of each project. She holds a BA in Photography from Grand Valley State University, co-organizes the Detroit Art Book Fair, and was a 2026 fellow at the Vermont Studio Center.
